07/04/2002 Entry: "Red, White and Yellow Terror Alert." I thought about dressing in yellow today, since we're told, like the Great Oz in the movie The Wiz, that this is the terrorist threat color of our weekend. Pity, I never looked very good in yellow. I loved listening to a story on NPR (no link; no time to apply for one) yesterday about how any congregation of three or more persons was a potential target of terrorism, and would have additional security there. Jeebus knows we have a National Guardsman protecting the backyard for a little barbeque going on back there. Y'know, just in case. Odd Bless America. No, I got up too late, so it was the usual black outfit for the Opening Day performance of the San Francisco Mime Troupe's newest show, "Mr. Smith Goes to Obscuristan." Very cool; As always, their highly political show has a lot of great music. And it's free in venues across Northern California. Fireworks later, which will hopefully be a little more exciting than last year. Doesn't really matter, though, since I have tomorrow off from work. Now there's a liberty anyone could stand behind. Happy 4th, America.
