08/14/2002 Entry: "John, The Euphemism You Want Is 'Relocation.'"

Many thanks to Chuck for finding a piece on Ashcroft's little-reported plan for Internment Camps for U.S. Citizens. Little reported until now, I suppose. I heard this on NPR this morning as I stumbled into the kitchen. I thought I was just half-asleep, since the report made such little sense. Nebulously defined "enemy combatants" get locked away on suspicions by the man who controls advises the President? Doesn't that sound like something we tried before? I mean, what sort of maniac would propose that again?
