11/11/2004 Entry: "Maybe I Look It, But I Have No Intention Of Acting It." I recently had to go in for a new drivers license. The State of California lets you register by mail twice, then they like to see that you do actually still exist. I was sad that I had to go, not because the DMV is such an awful place...OK, yes it is, but that's not why I was sad. I loved my old drivers license picture. I looked pretty good in it. I wasn't smiling crooked. I looked thin. I actually didn't mind showing it off to people. A week before my appointment at the DMV I got a really bad haircut. A day before my appointment I got a really big zit on my chin. My timing is impeccable. I just got my new license in the mail, and while I had prepared for the worse, the photo actually isn't that bad. I look a little surprised, but I think that's because I was in and out of the DMV in only 15 minutes. I've had better shots taken, but I can live with it. I made one mistake, however. I learned that there is one thing you should never do: hold your new picture up next to your old one. That's when you learn what twelve years looks like. Wow. I see me every day, so I never noticed. I'll hang on to the old one and compare in another twelve years. And hopefully the shock of it then won't kill me. And no, I will not scan and post them, so don't even ask.
Replies: 5 comments In the Cowlands they take your old one away from you. Alas, I look like shit in my current one and I'd die to have my one from 1991 again. Not because I was younger mind you. Just that the damn picture looked so much better. Posted by Nala @ 11/11/2004 06:47 PM PST But, what if we beg? Please? Posted by Chas. @ 11/12/2004 06:40 AM PST Oh, come on. Puuuuhlleeese! :-) I have fond memories of Cindy. For those who didn't have the pleasure of knowing her, Cindy was a 1994 (ish) hot-red corvette. It was awesome. So un-Casey, it was Casey. So fly. Posted by Colin @ 11/12/2004 07:08 AM PST OH Come on.. I promise not to laugh.. at least not outloud... Posted by Sillynun @ 11/12/2004 12:44 AM PST Well Casey it is about time you learned the truth. People do change over time. Just be glad you don't still have your first drivers license. I had the same license from the age of 16 till I was 27 ish I keep getting extention after extention and lets just say a few door people didn't think it was me in the picture. So come on Casey let us see what 12 years does to a person. LOL Posted by Anita Name @ 11/15/2004 11:40 AM PST |
